So⌠you know that feeling when youâre staring at a screen?
But youâre not actually seeing IT anymore?
Itâs like when you open the app to âcheck one quick thing,â and now youâre 47 stories deep into people you donât really know.
And they might even be doing things you donât like, and living lives youâre not sure you even want.
Yep.
So thatâs actually not being lost.
Or stuck.
Itâs more of blurry self type feeling,
AND thatâs what weâre diving into in todayâs edition!
The blurry / disconnected from yourself feeling;
Which comes after youâve been on for TOO long.

đĽ Video: âSimon Sinek on Avoiding Burnout and Modern WorkâLife Balanceâ â⯠In this 12âminute chat good ole Sinek explains how chronic digital stimulation hijacks our dopamine system and shares daily rituals to get back in control.
Digital burnout doesnât ONLY drain energy, it actually fractures your attention.
What feels like exhaustion is often actually being disconnected from a stable self.
AKA â youâve got a TON of mental tabs open, and so youâre NOT present.
(Sad)
Social media giants use neuroscience & behavioral hacks to give you that dopamine so you STAY without you knowing.
Kinda scary.
Scrolling. Optimizing. Curating. Monetizing.
And if you try to keep up with all of that,
scrolling that is, youâll lose yourself without realizing it.
Like you become this semi-potato just scrolling. đĽ
Not good, obviously.
So âYouâ are actually just underneath all of that.
Buried beneath performative clarity,
productivity hacks,
and a MILLION little pings asking you to be more,
watch more, have more.
Your attention is LITERALLY a resource like $$$ to these companies.
Be aware of that. Itâs gold.
So⌠what do you do to change that?
GREAT QUESTION YOU.
Start your day offline (even if itâs for 10 minutes):
In that way you make your first thought be YOURs,
and not the algorithm (Win).
Ask yourself this question before checking your phone, app, etc.:
âDo I want to be myself right now OR become someone elseâs version of meâ
When do you feel most like yourself,
and how often does your life actually include that version of you?
If no one could see what you were doing today,
what would you still choose to do?
What parts of you are getting the most attention,
and which parts are quietly starving?
You arenât that zombie version of yourself and you recognize that.
Or at least trying.
Now what?
